It Wasn’t Built To Last

Here I am again
In the city

The seasons change
Your smile

The crowds beat me
Like waves

Enjoying the chaos
Of the city

Like a corporate
Mosh pit

Sound of the city
Like metal

Makes my head ring
And heart sing

Cars hum in anger
I’m a stranger

Dancing in this
Noisy city

City is falling apart
Brick by brick

Falling into the ocean
Plumes of dust

On a hot summer day
The city drowns

In cool water I swim to you,
we feel the pulsating energies
soothe under the endless waves.
It wasn’t built to last.
